April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) began her musical journey at the age of 7 when she started guitar and piano classes. When she was 12 years old, April composed her first single Different. When she was 14 April was devoted for a long period of her time creating song concepts and practicing the music she was playing. Soon, April began taking trips in NY and LA together with her father in order for them both to write songs. April also included additional topics in her hit song, Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with issues such as peer pressure issues or even teenage suicide thinking. Lockhart is a partner at famous clean beauty brand Ilia as well as a lifestyle blogger who has a growing fan base. Born without a left hand, the woman has a significant part to play in her. But it's not the only thing she has to tell. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she does not make it the main focus of it. What message is it sending? This is the message that we all share numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think we are. Lockhart through a video message sent from her Nashville at home, claims I don't want that to be a part of myself. I'm more than my physical self. It doesn't affect my life. All is well and I have learned to adjust. Since it's a an integral part of me It's a topic worthy of talking about. Self-acceptance is a long marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. She still admits having gone through a series of phases with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothing that displayed the arms of her. She wears whatever she wants and is proud to post pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. Self-love, according to her, is a kind of journey. "I believe that you'll ever get there," she said. This is true for everyone regardless of their levels of anxiety. The people you surround yourself with, who know you and see into your heart are the ones you should be relying on to remind you of what you're concerned about.
