Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic performance. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci at just 6 years old. She first competed in the national junior championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in the year 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she was overall junior champion. When she made her debut as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion who won four golds and a silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of figure skater. Together with her younger sister Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career as an entertainer when she was a teenager. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades showcased performances of skaters ice skating with actors.
